It is a forgone conclusion that the United States, as a whole, uses more than its fair share
of electricity worldwide. It is also a forgone conclusion that we can conserve more.
For instance, imagine how many over the door Exit signs are in your building at work. Or how
about the local Mall. Your place of Worship. Your local Hospital or better yet the entire Medical Complex in major cities.
Now, add those altogether. Now multiply that by every major city in your state. Multiply that by every state in the United
States.
The energy savings has the propensity to be enormous!
Photoluminescent Exit Signs are required by law to have a source of light on them at all times
(the equivelant of a 15 watt bulb). However, that light source can be turned off when the building is not occupied. Moreover,
there is also a considerable savings because batteries that are depleted during power outages, that must be recharged (with
electricity) are no longer needed.
